Course Description

Short Course | 12 Hours | 1.2 CEUs

Our Python Programming for Data Analysis course provides a rapid introduction to NumPy, pandas, and matplotlib for experienced Python programmers who are new to these libraries. This instructor-led course prepares students to work with numerical data, analyze datasets, and create data visualizations using widely used Python data analysis tools.

Students gain practical experience using NumPy arrays and matrices, pandas Series and DataFrames, CSV data, data cleaning and selection, and matplotlib visualization. Through instructor-led demonstrations and hands-on programming activities, students build the skills needed to organize, analyze, and visualize data using Python.

NumPy

  • One-dimensional Arrays
  • Multi-dimensional Arrays
  • Getting Basic Information about an Array
  • NumPy Arrays Compared to Python Lists
  • Universal Functions
  • Modifying Parts of an Array
  • Adding a Row Vector to All Rows
  • Random Sampling

Pandas

  • Series and DataFrames
  • Accessing Elements from a Series
  • Series Alignment
  • Comparing One Series with Another
  • Element-wise Operations
  • Creating a DataFrame from a NumPy Array
  • Creating a DataFrame from Series
  • Creating a DataFrame from a CSV
  • Getting Columns and Rows
  • Cleaning Data
