Bootcamp | 42 Hours | 4.2 CEUs

Pen200

Our Penetration Testing with Kali Linux Bootcamp provides hands-on training and exam preparation for the Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP/OSCP+) certification. Designed for cybersecurity professionals, network and systems administrators, and aspiring penetration testers, this instructor-led course prepares students to identify security weaknesses, exploit vulnerabilities in authorized environments, and document findings to help organizations strengthen their defenses.

Students develop practical skills in information gathering, vulnerability scanning, web application attacks, password attacks, Windows and Linux privilege escalation, and Active Directory exploitation. Through instructor-led explanations, demonstrations, and hands-on labs, participants practice using Kali Linux and penetration testing tools to assess systems and work through realistic attack scenarios. The course emphasizes a methodical testing approach, technical problem-solving, and clear reporting while preparing students for OffSec’s hands-on certification exam.

  • Penetration testing methodology and cybersecurity fundamentals
  • Information gathering, reconnaissance, and enumeration
  • Vulnerability scanning and assessment
  • Web application attacks, including SQL injection and cross-site scripting
  • Client-side attacks
  • Locating and modifying public exploits
  • Antivirus evasion fundamentals
  • Password attacks

Offsec

The OSCP+ certification exam is a remotely proctored, hands-on assessment that requires candidates to identify vulnerabilities, exploit systems, escalate privileges, and document their work.

  • Practical exam: 23 hours and 45 minutes.
  • Report submission: An additional 24 hours after the practical exam to submit a professional penetration testing report.
  • Exam environment: Three standalone machines and one Active Directory set containing three machines.
  • Passing score: At least 70 out of 100 points, supported by the required evidence and documentation.
  • Open-book format: Personal notes, OffSec materials, and permitted online resources may be used on the computer running the proctoring software.
  • Restrictions: AI chatbots, outside assistance, and certain automated tools are prohibited. Candidates must follow OffSec’s current exam rules.

Candidates who pass earn:

  • OSCP, which does not expire.
  • OSCP+, which is valid for three years and requires renewal to maintain the “+” designation.

We encourage students to email their official exam results to info@workforcecenter.slu.edu so we can verify and record their pass/fail status in their student portal.

Students should have:

  • A solid understanding of TCP/IP networking.
  • Practical experience administering Windows and Linux systems.
  • Familiarity with basic Bash and/or Python scripting.
  • Basic knowledge of Active Directory.
  • Plan for substantial independent study and lab practice beyond scheduled class sessions.
