This course will build and support a more positive and productive workplace climate. A workplace where employees treat one another with civility and respect is far more likely to function at optimum levels of productivity. Participants will gain an understanding of the underlying principles of civility as well as the practical steps in achieving professional workplace conduct. Attention will also be given to reacting professionally to difficult personalities.

Course Outline

  • Principals of civility, understanding your values, and the values and expectations of your organization
  • Code of Ethics and the role they play
  • Business etiquette and professionalism
    • Workplace etiquette
    • Meeting Protocol
  • Five types of “difficult” personalities and tips for working with them
  • Action planning to apply new skills and knowledge on the job

  • Interact confidently in a variety of business settings
  • Present yourself and your organization effectively in formal business settings: large meetings, conferences, banquets, and events with senior leaders
  • Use interpersonal techniques to build positive working relationships
  • Work productively with many types of difficult people
